Day 1: Transfer to Mgahinga National Park
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga National Park
Day 3: Golden Monkey tracking and Departure
Day 1: Transfer to Mgahinga National Park
On Arrival at the Kigali International Airport, you will proceed on your journey to Mgahinga National Park South West of Uganda. You will transfer for a period of 4-5 hours and when you reach the park, you will transfer to your lodge/ hotel for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Travellers Rest Kisoro, Mt. Gahinga Safari Lodge, Kisoro Tourist Hotel.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga National Park
An early morning breakfast, go for a briefing at the park headquarters, in accompaniment of guides and rangers, you enter the forest to begin the Gorilla tracking activity which takes 2-10 hours depending on the movements of these gorillas.
Other animals and birds might be spotted too and these include the l’Hoest’s monkey, African elephant, birds like the African green broadbill, Grauer’s rush warbler, Chaplin’s flycatcher, African giant swallowtail among others. After Gorilla tracking, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay as above.
Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking in Mgahinga National park then Departure.
On this day after breakfast you will go for the Golden Monkey Tracking in the Forest Vegetation. Your guide from the park will take you through thick vegetation on a 1-5 hour trail. You finally will meet the golden monkeys, spend one hour with them and then you will return back to the Lodge for Lunch and later transfer back to Kigali for your departure flight.
