Day 1: Pick up from Kigali and transfer to volcanoes national park
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park

Day 4: Descend and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
Day 5: Gorilla trekking
Day 6: Boat cruise on Lake Bunyonyi
Day 7: Transfer to Kigali for City tour of the capital city of Land of thousand hills.
The guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kigali or from Kigali international airport and then transfer to Volcanoes National Park. Before leaving Kigali, you might choose to visit the Kigali genocide museum where you will earn about the genocide that happened in Rwanda and claimed many people’s lives.
Have lunch at a restaurant in Kigali and proceed. The drive to volcanoes will take you around 3 hours. Check in at Da Vinci Lodge where you will have dinner and spend the night.
After breakfast at the lodge, you will drive to volcanoes national park headquarters where you will be briefed by the park guide about gorilla trekking and then have your permits verified. You will then drive to the starting point of the trek (depending on which gorilla group you will be trekking).
You will then start the trek, the activity will take you around 4-6 hours depending on where the gorillas will be that day and your trekking speed. Once you find them, you will be given an hour to see the gorillas as they go about their lives, and also take photos. You return to the lodge, refresh and have lunch. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
After breakfast, you will drive to Karisimbi hike starting point where the park guide will brief you about the activity and also be assigned porters. You will then start the hike through the tropical forests on the lower slopes of the mountain.
As you hike to the top, you will expect to spot some of the monkey species that live in the forests as well as various forest bird species. You will have beautiful views of the Virunga and the surrounding highlands and vegetation. The top of the mountain will meet you with beautiful views of the Virunga massif and you will spot some of the mountains at a distance.
You will then set your tents, dinner will be served and then spend the night on the mountain.
Day 4: Descend and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national parkAfter breakfast at the camp site you will continue to hike up to the top of the mountain where you will be met by beautiful views of the Virunga massif. You will spot some of the mountains in Virunga like mount Nyiragongo, mount Muhabura and others depending on the weather that day.
You will the then descend back to the base for about 2-3 hours. The guide will be waiting for you and then you will transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park where you will cross the Rwanda-Uganda border and drive through the kigezi highlands. You will check in at gorilla mist camp where you will have dinner and spend the night.
After breakfast at the camp you will drive to the park headquarters of the sector you will be tracking. The park guide will brief you about gorilla trekking activity and what you should and shouldn’t do while in the forest. You will then start the hike through the tropical forests to look for the gorillas.
The activity will take you around 4-6 hours depending on your speed and fitness. When you find the gorillas, you will be given an hour to interact with the gorillas, see them as they go about their daily life and also take photos. As you trek the gorillas, you will expect to see some other primates that live in the forest like monkeys, baboons, and other animals. You will then return to the camp, refresh and have lunch.
After breakfast at the lodge, you will drive to the Lake Bunyonyi dock where you will board a boat for a cruise. You will take a cruise in Lake Bunyonyi which will take you around 3-4 hours.
You will visit the different islands on the lake, you will visit the “akampene” island where in the unmarried pregnant girls used to be damped and left to die. As you cruise, you will expect to spot some water bird species like the African fish eagle, egrets, cormorants, sacred hadada, yellow billed stork among others.
You will then return to the camp and have lunch. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
After a late breakfast at the camp, you will transfer back to Kigali. The guide will drop you at your hotel in Kigali or at Kigali international airport for your flight back home
