Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Bukavu in Democratic republic of Congo.
you will be welcomed and picked by the Active African Vacations tour guide and transfer to bukavu in democratic republic of congo.
You will stop at nyungwe forest lodge for lunch and later continue to cross the border to arrive in bukavu in evening hours as you go for city tour to view the great shops & market places for Congolese in the area and later proceed to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Coco Lodge/ Orchids safari lodge/panorama Hotel, Meals at full board.
Day 2: Lowland Gorilla tracking in Kahuzi Biega National Park.
After Early morning breakfast, you will embark into your safari jeep and drive for 1 hour to kahuzi biega national park headquarter the starting point for hiking Mount Biega.
The second highest peak in the park lies at an altitude of 2790m and the vegetation differs from Mount Kahuzi making it a wonderful ecological experience, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight as above . Meals on full board.
Day 3: Hiking Mountain Kahuzi in Congo.
Wake up early in the morning to enjoy your breakfast, after head to the start point for hiking mount kahuzi . Mount Kahuzi ( 3308M High) is an extinct volcano that form Kahuzi biega National Park .
Its within the National Park and hikers may spot other primates & different bird species. The climb takes approximately 4 hours through bamboo forest and sub alpine vegetation, and 3 hours to descend.
The summit provides spectacular views of Lake Kivu and the city of Bukavu. Return to the hotel in the evening hours Dinner and overnight as Above.
Day 4: Transfer from Bukavu to Kigali
You will wake up in the morning and transfer back through the Cyangugu border to Kigali where you will reach in the afternoon. You can decide to have lunch if you still have time or transfer direct to Kigali International airport to board your flight back home.
